99s first wings & amelia earhart memorial Scholarships

Thinking about applying for 99s First Wings or Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarships? Please reach out to Scholarship Chapter Chair Kristi Mansel at scholarships@laketahoe99s.org as soon as possible for help on getting started.  

Here is some of the information you need pertaining to these scholarships including Lake Tahoe 99s chapter deadlines. 

1. Applicants must have a login and password for ninety-nines.org.

2. Recommend Applicants spend time researching specific award for which they are applying and make sure they meet the criteria for the specific scholarship. 

3. Recommend Applicants review power point or PDF versions of Application Tips and Why My Application Did not Win. These are very focused articles on how to prepare a WINNING application. Please do this before any initial meetings for scholarship packages so everyone is on the same page about what is expected. Scholarship applications need to be treated like job applications and interviews so please put the time and effort in accordingly at each level you achieve. 

4. Chapter Deadline Dates:

First Wings Spring

• • By March 1 First Edit and Review of Package

  • By March 15 Second Edit and Review of Package

  • By March 29 Final Edits and Package Review

  • By April 1 Final Package Submitted

First Wings Fall

• By September 1 First Edit and Review of Package

• By September 15 Second Edit and Review of Package

• By September 29 Final Edits and Package Review

• By October 1 Final Package Submitted

AE Scholarship

• By October 1       First Meeting of Intent to Apply

• By October 15 First Package Review: Note: Does not have to be a complete package but a healthy start and overview

• By October 15 Must have asked those who will be writing Letter of Recommendations for commitment to receive letter by no later than October 31st

• By October 31 Full package review

• By November 15 Second Meeting Full Package review for edits

• By December 5 Final Package Review for edits

• By December 15 Final Package Chapter Submittal Date

Note: Some of the meetings may be able to be accomplished via zoom or Facetime depending on schedule and location of applicant and chapter scholarship committee.
